A Brief History

Resolver’s mission is to break down the walls between consumers and businesses – building trust and understanding through fast, jargon-free issue resolution.

We get fairer results for our users by giving businesses unique insight into their customers’ needs.

Our innovative approach towards consumer complaint resolution is helping tranform entire markets. We arm our clients with business intelligence to help them identify areas of development opportunity, becoming best in class through effective complaint resolution.


Founded in 2012, Resolver was developed by James Walker after he became frustrated while resolving an issue with a broken down boiler.


We launched our first website in May 2014 and fully launched to the market in September of that year.


In 2015, we became the first ever third party to use the MoneySavingExpert.com brand.


By 2016, we had achieved market-wide support for Resolver with key ombudsman, regulators and consumer organisations recommending Resolver.

During that time, we built a user base of more than six hundred thousand.


In September 2017, Resolver turned three years old. Since Resolver's inception, we have received over 1.4 million cases!


By February 2018, Resolver had achieved over 2 million case files. By August 2018 we had received over 2.6 million case files and over 3 million by November 2018.

The services we deliver now powers parking ticket appeals in England and Wales as well as supporting key regulators to deliver better regulation through our market level insight and knowledge.

Resolver has become the largest consumer complaint website in the UK and we are recognised by all key ombudsmen, regulators and consumer organisations.  We are proud of the positive difference we have affected, and we will continue to drive for better outcomes for consumers by helping organisations, ombudsmen and regulators to make better decisions.
